Getting involved with this national honors organization was the most rewarding part of my community college chapter. It earned me scholarships and an award for most active member in 2017.

Coalition for the Homeless: Spring Fling 2017
Pizza party, hula hooping and arts and crafts uplifted the spirits of the families supported by this incredible foundation. Last year alone they ended homelessness for over 1000 people.
A moving experiment sleeping under the stars changed how I perceived what would have previously been a marshmallow roasting good time. In fact, this humbling night was a cornerstone in my Honors In Action research. It pushed me to raise my standards for those among us living but not thriving. There are inalienable rights that we may just need an open arm to utilize.
In a Valencia College survey, 27% of households experienced food insecurity with children. With the help of our partners, we were able to anonymously share a Thanksgiving meal with our high-risk peers and educate ourselves on the plan to reduce this stress in higher education.
